Nate King
Nate grew up on an Amish dairy farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he learned the value of hard work, resourcefulness, and perseverance from an early age.
He began his career in post-frame construction in 2001 before founding Superior Buildings with his wife, Joanna, in 2009. With four young children to support after losing his job during the economic recession, starting a business was as much a necessity as it was an opportunity.
In the early days, Nate handled all the construction himself, but today he oversees the company's sales and construction operations from the office.
Outside of work, Nate enjoys spending time with his family, tending to his cattle and other farm animals, and taking hunting trips across North America.
Joanna King
Joanna co-founded Superior Buildings alongside her husband, Nate, in 2009 and played an important role in helping the company get off the ground.
Although she's no longer involved in day-to-day operations, she remains a trusted source of advice and perspective for the family members running the business today.
Her interest in construction began at just eight years old, when she helped her father build their family home.
Outside of work, Joanna enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and especially music. Having played piano since childhood, she now shares her musical talents as a member of her church's worship team, where she plays piano and occasionally sings.
